“I have always been fascinated by nature. The attractive bark of the trees, the diversity of the patterns of color and fur in animals, minerals, plants, trees… Faced with such attraction, I can only think that in another life I must have been a tree, or a stone.

My creative process follows a dialogue between inspiration and the nature of the material I work with: wood.

Many moments of inspiration happen while in nature. When I walk alone through the forest, I recover discarded materials with which to carry out my work. Each wood is different, and each piece has unique characteristics. Some woods allow great freedom while being carved, but others demand to stay close to the mode of growth of the tree from which they come. The external appearance is the first thing that inspires me, but its presence changes as I discover the mysteries of its interior. “
