Although difficult to unify, due to its permanent transformation, Iciar Yllera’s work could be conceived as an expressionist search for shock. Be it from its first aspect, more anchored in figuration or from the most recent flirtation with the abstract, it tries to relate, from the basic expression of the artist’s own concerns, to a sensibility understood as universal. A corporeal impact that begins from visuality and mobilizes social questioning. And this is carried through a pictorial language marked by forceful gesture and by an increasingly protagonistic material charge, that fights to liberate its own internal organicity.
