The exhibition features a selection of the most representative recent visual work by the artist Luis Úrculo’s  in the City of Querétaro Museum. Furthermore, the work is linked to the city’s artistic community through a workshop and to the public through a conference and guided tours.

The project is an exclusive presentation of the installation “Learning from Karaoke”, a sound project that started off in 2016, touring through all types of media and disciplines, including drawing, installation and video. The exhibition is the tangible, artistic result of an intimate analysis orchestrated through the artist’s own memories and experiences. It serves as an exploration of the underlying morphology and phenomenology behind each exhibit, to the beat of the behaviour of the materials they comprise.

Parallel to the exhibition there will be a number of showings of some of his works in the Rosalío Salino theatre halls.

Luis Úrculo (Madrid, 1978) currently lives and works between Madrid and Mexico City. Throughout his career he has shown special interest in creative processes, capacity and moulding ability of architecture, as a fictional space. This discipline is adapted to his project compositions in his studio, making for new, unexpected scenes and expectations. (AC/E press-release)
