Galerie Mokum is devoted to contemporary art and it was founded in 1962. This gallery played an important role for the development of post-war realist Dutch paintings. Today it is still very influential, representing both Dutch and foreign artists, among whom are, in addition to Carlos Morago and Joseba Sánchez Zabaleta, other Spanish artists such as Rafel Bestard (Mallorca), Pedro Escalona (Málaga), Carlos Sagrera ( Madrid), and the sculptor duo Coderch and Malavia (born in Barcelona and Guipúzcoa, respectively).
