MANCHESTER. Bigas Luna “Comedias Bárbaras” 28 march – 12 april 2019. Instituto Cervantes.

As part of the Spanish and Latin American Film Festival ¡Viva!, Instituto Cervantes Manchester, in collaboration with the University of Durham, will host part of the ‘Bigas Luna Tribute’: a creation about the famous Spanish film director and artist Bigas Luna who died in 2013.

Santiago Fouz Hernández, a specialist in Bigas Luna’s works from the University of Durham and coordinator of this events in collaboration with Betty Bigas, will present an exhibition of ‘Comedias Bárbaras’, a continuous screening of six short pieces of video art of one and two minutes’ length.

The opening event will include a screening and presentation of BigasxBigas by the director Santiago Garrido Rua, a posthumous documentary based on more than 600 hours of the filmmaker’s video diaries. (I. Cervantes press-release)
